Strawberry Resort is a spot that used to be on the down-low for local surfers, known for its long left-hand point breaks and some decent bowl sections. Access can sometimes be tricky, especially when the resort is open, as the guards are pretty strict about letting people in. That said, when you do get in, it can be a fun place to surf, especially at low tide.
The optimal swell direction here is Northeast, which works well when swells come from the North or East. You can expect it to handle swell sizes around 2 ft (about 0.6 meters) nicely. The waves break over sand and generally offer lefts, making it a good spot for those who prefer going that way. For the best experience, it’s advisable to hit Strawberry Resort on low to mid tide, especially when the wind is coming from the Southwest, as that keeps conditions clean.
This place is mostly suited for intermediate surfers, so keep that in mind. While it's not the most famous spot around, if you manage to get some waves here when the conditions are right, it can definitely be a worthwhile session.
