Wells Jetties surf guide

Wells Jetties is located near the Webhanner River, featuring jetties on both sides. The southern jetty is known for building a decent sandbank right off its tip. This spot is typically less crowded because surfers often spread out to other breaks nearby, especially during the winter months when access is free.

When it comes to surfing, this spot can handle swells of about 2ft (0.6m) and up. It works with swells coming from the NorthEast and SouthEast, so there's usually something to ride. The waves break left and are short and steep, providing a fast ride if you catch them right. Low tide is the best time to surf here, and it’s notable that the waves can be a bit powerful, so be prepared for some size. The ideal wind direction is from the NorthWest.

Since this spot can experience strong currents, it's important to stay aware of your surroundings, especially with fishing and pleasure boats nearby. The estuary can also create some interesting conditions, so it's a good idea to keep an eye out when you’re surfing.
