Surf: Potentially powerful lefts and rights can produce long rides on the outside sandbar when it’s lined up and big. Getting out can be a problem, as there are no channels and strong rips/currents. Good and fun when smaller. Longboarders surf here as it often doesn’t break top-to-bottom. No good on higher tides unless it’s big. Environment: Consistent spot and rarely crowded. State Park facilities with campground. Area inhabited by wild ponies, which, as the signs say, will kick and bite.
