Camel Rock is a beachbreak located next to the twin-humped Camel Rock, nestled in a lush, green area. This spot can get pretty crowded, especially on nice days. However, it has its charm and offers a decent surf experience for those looking to catch some waves.
The waves here typically work best with a west swell, but you can also find surfable conditions with south or north swells. It can handle waves from around 0.3 meters (1 ft) and often breaks over sand. You can expect mostly sectiony right-hand waves, but there are hollower lefts to be found close to the rock. Low tide is the best time to paddle out, especially with a light northeastern wind helping to shape the waves.
If you’re an intermediate surfer, you'll fit right in at Camel Rock. There’s a convenient paddling channel next to the rock that makes it easier to get in and out, even when it’s busy. Just be prepared for some competition in the water since this spot can get popular!
