Erakor Island surf guide

Erakor Island is a private resort island accessible by a free ferry. It's a chill spot with plenty of water activities available, but it's not super popular among surfers. The main appeal for surfing here comes from the short lefts that break on the western reef, especially during high tide. This spot has less swell exposure compared to places like Pango Point or Breakas, making it a bit less consistent, but it does handle the trade winds a little better.

The waves at Erakor Island break mainly to the left over live coral and work best with a swell direction coming from the south, southeast, or west. It's suitable for swell sizes around 3 feet (about 0.9 meters). Intermediate surfers will find the conditions manageable, but be ready for a bit of a workout if you're heading out to Erakor Point, where the lefts can get tricky and tend to section up instead of linking up nicely. The best wind direction for surfing here is northeast, and mid to high tide is when the waves are at their best.

Keep an eye on the tides and currents; you might experience some currents on the dropping tide. The vibe is pretty laid-back, so if you're looking for some fun waves without the crowded beaches, Erakor Island could be worth a stop.
