Soumabal Point is located on the SE coast and is known for picking up plenty of swell. It features a left reef break that leads into deep water, providing a solid option for surfers looking for some waves. However, it's important to note that the area does get a lot of trade wind exposure, so by mid-morning, the conditions can get a bit disorganized. Early mornings are usually the best time to catch a clean wave.
This spot handles swell sizes around 3ft (approximately 1 meter) and works well with swells coming from the East and SouthWest. As a reef break, the waves can be pretty fun, especially if you're at an intermediate skill level. The waves break left, and the best wind direction is from the North. If you're timing your session, aim for mid to high tide for the best conditions.
For access, it's recommended to hire a boat to reach this spot, as it can be tricky to get to. Just keep in mind that there is a nearby river mouth, which can attract sharks. Being aware of your surroundings is always a good practice.
