Surf: The 3kms (2mi) of sandbanks at Karon Beach constantly shift, but it does get interesting on small swells with little or no wind and it’s the favoured spot for the surf schools. It's well exposed so gets bigger and choppier than Kata, with currents and close-outs to contend with in big swells. Environment: High consistency for Phuket area.
