Killer Point surf guide

Killer Point, often just called 'Killers', is one of the standout surf spots in Taghazout. It's a popular point break that draws surfers looking for consistent waves. The spot handles the biggest swells, making it a go-to location for more experienced surfers. Being at the center of Moroccan surfing, it does get its fair share of crowds, especially during peak season. The access can be a bit tricky, with a long paddle from the rocky beach and uneven terrain, so it’s not the best choice for beginners.

The surf at Killer Point really comes alive with a Northwest swell, handling sizes from about 1.5 meters (5ft) to over 5.5 meters (18ft). The waves typically break right over uneven reefs and sand, offering powerful, steep take-offs that lead to long, rippable walls. There are sections where you might snag a barrel, but be prepared for some difficult parts as well. Ideal conditions show up when the tide is low to high, and the preferred wind comes from the east. If you're serious about your surfing, you'll want to take the long paddle to score better waves and avoid more crowded spots like Anchor Point.

In terms of vibe, expect a competitive scene since many surfers here are looking to challenge themselves. Be mindful of the currents and rocks in the water, as they can be tricky. Even though it can fill up with people, you're likely to find it less crowded than Anchor Point, making it a good spot for those ready to brave the paddle and enjoy some quality waves. The best season to hit up Killer Point is from autumn into winter when the North Atlantic storm track is in full swing.
