Longnook to Ballston Beach surf guide

Surf: The curve of Cape Cod prevents any decent SE swell getting in from Longnook to Ballston. It is also badly affected by the regular and strong NW winds. Low tides, SW winds, and the weaker, lumpy NE wind swells may produce some decent conditions on the less battered sandbars. North of here, take a windsurfer. Smaller and more manageable in big SE swells. Environment: Extreme currents intensify nearer the northern tip of Cape Cod. Rarely crowded, clean water. Early arrival in summer to snag a pay-to-park spot.
