Ravena surf guide

Ravena is a beach that offers a good surfing experience with solid sandbars. It can start working at around 0.6 to 0.9 meters (2 to 3 feet) and is capable of holding waves up to about 4.5 to 4.6 meters (15 feet) on bigger days. This spot is relatively easy to find and welcomes surfers of varying skill levels, making it a popular location.

The waves here can be quite diverse. Most commonly, the swell comes from the South, but it also handles North, North-East, and East swells pretty well. Expect waist-high to overhead waves with sizes ranging from about 0.9 meters (3 feet) up to 4.5 meters (15 feet). The best wind directions for surfing are from the West and West-Northwest, while the tides work well from low to mid and mid to high. Beginners and intermediates will find it friendly, with a mix of right and left breaks over sandy bottoms.

When it comes to accessing the wave, the paddle is manageable on smaller days but gets trickier as the size increases. The overall vibe can be competitive, especially on bigger days when the crowd thins out a bit. Fall and winter are the seasons to look out for, but you can catch a wave here year-round, so grab your shortboard, gun, or tow board and hit the surf!
