Surf: The renowned hippie community of Zipolite is a popular rest stop on the backpacker circuit and there can be some short, dumpy lefts and rights along the notoriously rippy beach, especially off the rock in the middle. The beach to the west has similar opportunities up towards San Augustinillo. Environment: Lots of beach accommodation and laid-back vibe. Beginners will struggle above 3ft. Bandits operate on the small coastal roads in this area, robbing people at night.
