Achadas da Cruz surf guide

Achadas da Cruz is a surf spot located on the stunning cliffs with easy access via a cable car or a long, winding trail. It features two righthand points side by side, with the southern point being the more popular choice among surfers. This area is generally a decent place to hit when the wind is coming from the east and the swell isn’t too big.

The spot works best with swells coming from the north, but it can also handle swells from the west and northeast. It can handle swell sizes up to about 3ft (0.9 meters). The waves break over boulders, creating challenging conditions for surfers. The preferred tides are mid to high, and it's suitable for intermediate surfers. While the southern point often closes out with bigger swells, the northern point can offer excellent rides in those conditions.

Keep in mind that while you're enjoying the surf, sharks are more likely to be around this area. So, exercise caution and enjoy the waves. Getting in and out can be tricky, especially when the swell gets larger, so be prepared for that challenge.
