Bicas is a surf spot located at the far end of Costa Caparica. It features a left reef break that works best with a solid W-NW swell. While it can offer good waves, it’s known to be a bit fickle and doesn't get surfed as much as other spots in the area. Many surfers might find the waves challenging due to the rocky environment.
The waves at Bicas can handle swell sizes up to about 5ft (1.5 meters) and typically work best with a west swell direction. You’ll also find some decent conditions with south and north swells. The spot breaks over uneven reefs, which can make for some exciting rides but also requires some caution. The wave tends to be fast and hollow, appealing to intermediate surfers mainly. The best conditions usually occur when the wind is coming from the east, and you can surf it during low, mid, or high tide.
It’s worth noting that Bicas can have rips, so be aware of them while you're out there. If you're looking for something different, this spot might surprise you on the right day, but definitely check the conditions before heading out.
