Cadiz surf guide
Surf: General: The town beach Playa de Santa Maria del Mar is hemmed in between two rocky groynes, that help the sand collect and give the banks a bit of form. A small beach with short, intense waves and a large intense crew. Best low to mid as gets backwash at high and closes out when big.
Tides: All tides except high when back washy.
Size: Waist to head high.
Wind: E
Swell: SW, W, NW
Bottom: Sand
Paddling: Pretty mellow.
Spot Rating: Short, wedgy lefts and rights - not a classic but fun.
Access: There's no real parking.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: Small spot with big crowd.
Local Vibe: Competitive, intense, some localism.
Environment: Not great, very bad after rains.
Hazards: Main city spot so can be human soup.
Season: Needs a bigger swell so better autumn through to spring - Sept - March.
