La Muralla surf guide

La Muralla is a surf spot located in the Bahia de Cadiz that offers a lively vibe for surfers looking to catch some waves. This righthand reefbreak is best when the swells come from the southwest but can also work with swells from the south and west. It’s a spot where surfers gather to enjoy the surf, but keep in mind that it can get crowded when the conditions are right.

The waves at La Muralla can be hollow and fast, making it a better fit for intermediate surfers. It handles swell sizes of about 3 feet (0.91 meters) and breaks over uneven reef, producing right-hand waves that can be quite thrilling. The best time to surf here is during low, mid, or high tides, with northeast winds providing the ideal conditions. If you’re still working on your skills, it’s advisable to stick to the beachbreaks at Las Redes instead, as La Muralla can be challenging.

When you visit, just be aware that the quality of the swell relies heavily on the presence of southwest swells, and conditions can change quickly. If you're hoping for consistent surf, plan your visits accordingly to catch it at its best!
