Chambers surf guide

Chambers is a surf spot located between Rocky Point and Pupukea. It's known for its fast and hollow break over shallow reef. While the lefts are the main attraction, especially during WNW to NW swells, you can also score some decent rights, particularly when the swells come from the north. Paddling out can be tricky when it’s solid, as the channels aren’t super defined, and some areas are really shallow. Timing the sets is essential to avoid a tough paddle.

The spot can handle swell sizes from about 5ft (1.5m) to 10ft (3m) and breaks primarily on a reef, with some sand and coral patches. The waves generally break to the left and the right, offering options for both types of surfers. Best conditions occur when the wind is calm or light from the E to S, but the usual ENE trades will work too. For the best results, aim for low to mid-tide, especially between peak low and peak high. The rides tend to be short due to the close-in break.

Getting to Chambers is pretty easy. Just drive about half a mile past Ehukai Beach Park on Kam Highway, turn onto Ke Nui Road, and park where allowed. The access is through public streets and trails. Expect some crowds when the spot is on, but it’s generally manageable. The local vibe stresses humility and respect. Make sure you’re an intermediate or expert level surfer to enjoy it fully, especially during the winter months when the conditions are prime.
