Ra's Kaydah is a surf spot located on the scenic coastline of Masirah in Oman. It serves as the last headland before the coast angles too far into the wind. The area offers a rich surfing environment with about 500km of coast to explore south to the border of Yemen. The setting here is pretty unique, making it a destination worth checking out for surfers looking to discover something new.
This spot works best with a south swell, but it can also handle southeast and southwest swells. Ra's Kaydah can pick up swells ranging from 2ft to just over 6ft (around 0.6 meters to 2 meters) and breaks over uneven reefs. The waves are mainly right points, which can be fun for intermediate surfers. The best conditions usually happen with a west wind and are workable across low, mid, and high tides, giving you some flexibility when hitting the water.
There's definitely potential for exploration here. Many surfers find hidden gems further along the coast, so if you're up for an adventure, keep an eye out for spots that might not yet be well-known. Ra's Kaydah might not be the most popular place on the map, but it has a laid-back vibe and is worth your time if you’re looking to enjoy some waves away from the crowds.
