Overview
Ra's Kaydah is a right-hand point that breaks over uneven reef, sitting on the last headland before the coast turns too far into the wind. The outside tip of the reef throws up some sucky sections, provided the southwesterly isn't blowing. It's a corner of coast with plenty still to explore: Masirah and the 500 km running south to the Yemen border hold real potential for discoveries.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through southeast, and south swell is the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Waves turn up reasonably often, so it's worth checking regularly without expecting something every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind to clean it up. The point can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Intermediate surfers will get the most out of it, with enough shape on the outside tip to reward a bit of experience. Expect a quiet lineup.
