Reve Havn surf guide

Reve Havn is a popular surf spot located just a short drive north of Bore Strand Camping. It's often crowded, especially in winter, as it's the last good spot before the nearby bird sanctuary. Since Piggy, which is around 4-500 meters south, has a surfing ban from October to March, a lot of surfers migrate here, making it a busy place to catch some waves.

The surf at Reve Havn can vary quite a bit. It really shines with a medium to big Northwest swell (around 1.2 to 3 meters) and performs best with the wind from the Southeast. The waves tend to break over boulders, producing a mix of right-handers that can be fun for intermediate surfers. You’ll find it challenging if the swell is less than about 1.2 meters, as exposed boulders can become a problem. While the waves can pack some power, they usually don’t match the intensity of Piggy unless it's really big. Just be aware that when it gets over 3 meters, it tends to close out, making it tricky, especially near the barnacle-encrusted harbor wall.

Accessing the water is pretty straightforward from the harbor, which is nice, even on bigger days. Just keep in mind the spot can get really crowded, with many surfers potentially out of their depth given how easy the paddle out is. If you're heading there, make sure you’re ready for a busy line-up.
