Point Perfect is a surf spot located along a stunning coastline, known for its boulder point setup. The area can sometimes get a bit crowded due to its appeal, but it’s generally a chill place to catch some waves. You can easily park in the designated area just before the small landing strip for private planes, making access pretty straightforward for surfers looking to get in the water.
The surf at Point Perfect works best with a clean SouthWest swell, producing slow walls and cutback shoulders that can be enjoyable for intermediate surfers. This spot picks up swells from the South and NorthWest as well, but they don’t always link up effectively. The ideal swell size ranges from about 2ft (0.6m) and it handles both low and mid tide, as well as high tide. The waves break over boulders and sand, generally favoring right-hand waves. If you're catching a session here, a NorthEast wind is preferable to keep the conditions clean, enhancing your ride.
While you’re out there, keep in mind that the atmosphere can be a bit of a mixed bag with crowds at times, but it still offers a good session if you’re willing to share the waves. Just be ready for a range of abilities in the water, as it’s a spot that welcomes intermediate surfers looking to improve their skills.
