Sele is a surf spot located at the north end of Bore beach. It's known for its combination of boulders and a sandy bottom, which creates a point break. It tends to draw in a crowd since it's a popular spot for beginners and those looking to improve their skills. Even on days when the waves aren't that impressive, you can expect to see a lot of surfers in the water.
The waves here are generally unchallenging, offering fun and short righthanders. When conditions are right, especially with a southwest swell (optimal and from the south-west or northwest), the surf can pick up and become faster. You can catch waves even when it's just 1 foot (around 0.3 meters). The spot works well at low, mid, and high tide, making it flexible for different surf sessions. However, the preferred wind direction is northeast, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.
While Sele is mainly suited for beginners, the sandy and boulder mix can offer a bit of variety. Just be prepared for it to get packed since it's a favorite among those still honing their skills.
