Refsnes surf guide

Refsnes is a surf spot located just south of Point Perfect, easily accessible from the same parking area. It's about a 10-minute drive from Bore Strand Camping, making it convenient for surfers looking to catch some waves without the hassle of long treks. The beach tends to be pretty quiet, making it a decent spot to relax while waiting for your turn on the waves.

The waves at Refsnes are shifting peaks, and you can expect similar conditions to those at Bore. The optimal swell direction is from the west, but it can handle swells from the southwest and northwest. It works well with swell sizes starting at around 2 feet (0.6 meters) and can produce both left and right beach breaks. For the best experience, surf during low to mid or high tide, and when the wind is coming from the northeast. It’s a spot that is great for beginners, especially when it has a good sandbar set up, which typically happens in late summer.

Access to Refsnes is straightforward, with parking spots available at Point Perfect (Vik Airfield) or the middle of the beach. Since the area is not very crowded, it’s ideal for those just starting out in surfing. The beach offers a relaxed vibe, perfect for honing your skills without the pressure of a busy lineup.
