Harrow Harbour is a surf spot known for its disheveled platform of reef, located near Tang Head. This area features a series of rocks that create a setup for left-breaking waves as they wrap in towards the harbour. It's a decent spot for surfers looking to catch some fun waves, especially when the conditions align just right.
For surfing at Harrow Harbour, the best swell direction is from the Northwest. The spot works best with swells coming in from both the West and Northeast, handling sizes around 3 feet (about 1 meter). You can expect left-point breaks here which are suitable for intermediate surfers. The waves tend to break best on the rock ledge, and you'll find that mid to high tides produce more favorable conditions. Pay attention to the wind, as a South wind is your friend here.
Accessing the surf is pretty straightforward: just park at the harbour and take a walk up the point. Keep in mind that there can be some rocky outcrops and currents in the water, so it's good to be aware of your surroundings while you’re out there.
