Keiss is a surf spot located at the north end of Sinclair’s Bay. This location is characterized by a long left reef that offers some interesting waves for surfers. While it’s not the most consistent place to catch a ride, it can be a decent spot when the conditions are right. A car park is available at Stain, making it easy to get to the beach.
The spot really shines when there’s a big NorthEast to East swell. It can handle swell sizes starting around 2ft (0.6m) and works best with a good W wind, since a SW wind can get pretty strong and messy. The waves break over a rock ledge, creating lefts that can be fun for intermediate surfers. The best tidal conditions range from low to high, so check the tide before heading out.
Overall, Keiss isn’t the most crowded spot, so you can usually get some space to surf. Just remember that the consistency can be a bit low, so it might take some patience to get a good session in. If the swells are right, it can definitely be worth your time!
