Lantana surf guide
Surf: Easy access to average beachbreak peaks without the crowds at Lake Worth. NE swell tends to close it out, so only a SE/E swell at all but low tide will serve up some rideable peaks.
Environment: Cheaper meter parking than the surrounding area and rarely crowded.
Surf: General: Lantana Public Beach breaks on almost all conditions. Surprisingly, while groundswells tend to close out, unruly windswells toss powerful peaks over the inside sandbars. On N/NE swells, mushy peaks break on the outside and can connect with the steeper, faster inside. Strong currents can sweep down the beach depending on the conditions, so a good session requires constant paddling and duck-diving. A few waves each session will really line up, and it's a good place to boost your wave count. During SW conditions, when the longshore currents are too strong to paddle against, it's worthwhile to leave a car at the Lake Worth Pier and then drift the two miles back from Lantana Public Beach. Numerous reef patches and sandbars serve up bowling A-frames along the way, and it only takes about two hours when the current is strong.
