Tokomaru Bay is a good right-hand point that breaks off the rocks at the north end of the beach, running over an uneven reef.
When It Works
It draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south (NE-ESE-S), with southeast (SE) the best match, and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency can be a little hit and miss, so it's worth watching for the days when everything lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind. The point is best on high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert wave at its best. The fast, barrelling right off the rocks rewards experienced surfers when the point is firing. Less experienced surfers are better suited to the exposed beachbreaks, which handle south to southwest winds and work across any tide. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.

You'll find the break just before the disused wharf and boat ramp.
