The reef and sandbars can create some fun waves, especially on low to mid tide, although those chopping walls can sometimes be a bit fat and tricky. If you want to avoid the crowds, head over to the backside in the lee of Norries Head, where some A-Frames can show up along the sandbars stretching down to Hastings Point.
This spot is great for beginners looking to improve their skills. While it’s generally an easy surf, just be mindful that at high tide the waves can get too full unless there’s a bit more size in the swell.
