El Silencio surf guide
Surf: The cove at El Silencio has a rocky reef inside the northern headland where a variable right will break in moderate S or better still W-NW swells. Inconsistent and often disorganised, the rights can be sucky over the sharp boulders before fattening out on the shoulder then shutting down on the sandier inside. There are some lefts at the southern end and also around the headland back towards Pulpos at La Timba.
Environment: Rips, rocks popping up at low tide and legions of urchins amongst them. Again it's popular with the spongers but is rarely crowded as there are better waves to the south. The beach itself gets super-packed with beautiful people in summer and is party central at night with great seafood and cerviche in the many restaurants and bars.
