Surf: Fast, hollow, rivermouth sandbar that works in big swells. Needs light winds.
Environment: Parking by the beach. Some facilities on caravan site. Dirty water after rains.
Surf: General: A big, sheltered expanse of shifting sands that can produce fun, walls or maddeningly fickle sections. The tide drops out and pushes in quickly, transforming a once fat peak into a sand sucking close-out. Expect rips and crowds when good. Bounces off the Bluff at high.
Tides: Low to near high.
Size: Thigh high to overhead.
Wind: E, SE, S
Swell: NW, W, big SW
Bottom: Sand.
Paddling: Can be rippy, currents around rivermouth.
Spot Rating: Shifty, fickle, can be excellent, fat or close-out - flip a coin!
Access: Pay parking at Bluff Inn.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: Can get crowded when its working.
Local Vibe: Fairly relaxed.
Environment: River runoff after rains.
Hazards: Rips, pollution after rain.
