Olowalu surf guide
Surf: General: About six miles south of Lahaina Harbor you'll find the jetty spit at Olowalu, where a left peels off in the summer months, when SSW-SW swells sneak between Lana'i and Kaho'olawe. Elsewhere nearby there are right and left peaks to choose from, all in the small to medium-sized range.

Size: Chest high-2X overhead
Wind: Calm or offshore from NNE to E, with NE straight offshore.
Swell: SSW to SW
Bottom: Reef
Paddling: Not too bad, but currents can be bad during solid swells.
Spot Rating: Pretty fun left, and other fun waves nearby.
Access: Easy, right off the road.
Crowds: Crowd Factor: Light to moderate, depending on quality of surf and day of week, hit or miss.
Local Vibe: Usually on the mellow side. Be cool and keep it that way.
Environment: Pristine.
