The Lagoons surf guide

Surf: Four of them (Humboldt Lagoons State Park) occupying 9 miles of coast; each of them (Big Lagoon, Dry Lagoon, Stone Lagoon, Freshwater Lagoon) features the same basic characteristics. Big Lagoon has evil shorepound. You’d want a clean, head high swell with lower tide and E wind for all four lagoons. Sharky. The lagoons above Big all break consistently, but the shape of the waves is very temperamental. Sandbars change constantly due to the strong currents, and the undertow can be severe. Environment: Freshwater Lagoon is the most popular since it’s right alongside the highway. You can camp there.
