Surf: Consistent beachbreak with several peaks, depending on sandbars. Low to mid tide only. Works best on small swells. Uneven submerged rocks can be dangerous. Environment: Reasonably uncrowded with friendly locals. Picturesque, relatively quiet spot despite being near urban areas. Plenty of parking. Not too popular with beachgoers as the beach cuts off at high tide. Facilities include lifeguard, showers and camping nearby at sopelana. Estuarine pollution from Bilbao and Plentzia, particularly after heavy rains.
