Surf: Consistent, good to excellent beachbreak, sometimes producing barrels. OK on most tides although changes with sandbars. Environment: Sometimes crowded, especially at weekends. Some pollution from the nearby Mundaka estuary. Picturesque spot in a pine forest with impressive cliffs on the east side. Much nicer in winter when there are no beachgoers from nearby Gernika. Parking normally not a problem except in peak summer. Lifeguard, showers and a bar on the beach in summer.
