Blacksmiths Beach surf guide

Surf: The jetty protecting the entrance of Lake Macquarie can have decent peaks on both sides provided the NE-E swell is moderate and the tide is pushing. Often junky and weak, making it a great place to learn, occasionally it will surprise with quality rides. Clean on the beach side in S winds. Environment: So inconsistent and reliant on sand flow when it does work there will be a crowd. Spooky surfing the channel side as the Jaws theme plays in your head.
