Surf: Hidden 3km south, Green Meadows is a long right pointbreak, often broken into sections with barrels on the inside. Needs low tide and picks up swell easily all the way round to the SE. Requires speed and positioning to make the sections so advanced surfers only. Directions: From New Plymouth head south on the surf Highway, State Highway 45. Continue a little south of Opunake, just past Waitino Road, then walk, following the creek down to the beach where you'll find a right hand point. Environment: Park on main road and follow path beside stream for half a km to beach. There are plenty of other reef options on this stretch in various conditions.
