Surf: Try the shorter, less popular left point at Komene Road 2km south of The Patch and there are rocky peaks all the way down to it from the Stony River mouth. All tides and picks up all swell, along with the wind. Directions: From New Plymouth head south west on Devon Street West, then onto South Road, The surf Highway, State Highway 45. Continue through Okato, turn right onto Komene Road, down to the end of the road. From here its a very short walk to the beach. Environment: Not really a beginners spot.
