Malabar, also known as Long Bay, is a surf spot that's tucked away and can attract a crowd, especially when other spots are completely filled up. This location works best with a SouthEast swell, and you'll want to be there when the swell is big enough to really make an impact. It has a reputation for being a bit tricky, so it's mainly suited for more experienced surfers who know their way around the waves.

The waves at Malabar break left and come from the SouthEast and can also catch some East and South swells. You'll find that the ideal swell size is around 3 feet (about 1 meter), and this spot handles it well. The reef can be uneven, so be cautious out there; it can get sucky during low tide but tends to fatten out with some push. You’ll want the wind blowing in from the Northwest for the best conditions, and it’s suitable to surf across low, mid, and high tides.
