Mitchell's Cove surf guide
Surf: Classic righthand pointbreak/sandbar set-up best during large, clean swells and low tides. Gets hollow, fast and crowded. One of the best spots in the county when itβs on and the sections connect. Any swell, W to N, low incoming tide best.
Environment: Watch for shallow reef action on the outside take-off area and a wicked shorepound on the inside sandbar.
Surf: General: Mitchell's Cove is a right point that loves a low tide and a winter swell in the overhead to double-overhead range. When Mitchell's is firing, it is one of the better right points on the California coast. This place is fickle and finicky, but it can blow your mind on the right day.
