Surf: Tucked in behind the harbour, Belt Road leads to a left reef that needs pretty sizeable SW-W swells to show its true tube colours, otherwise its a bit lazy and sectiony. Directions: From New Plymouth city centre head south west on Devon Street West, The surf Highway, State Highway 45, then turn right onto Belt Road and head down to the beach with car park. Environment: Sharp rocks and crowds on the good days.
