La Jolla Cove surf guide
Surf: When La Jolla Cove is breaking, most everywhere else will be closed out, and there will be hundreds of spectators here. A long, big-wave left, which only works during the biggest winter NW swells. Very thick and powerful, but not very hollow. Great drops. Medium-low tide works best. Southerly storm winds blow offshore here. Gets crowded when itβs on. Use caution and good timing when entering and exiting the water; very rocky and rough with caves in the cliff face. Experts only.
Directions: Located off Coast Boulevard, east of Girard Avenue.
